    Two Grommet Medals in Three Years

    The Surfer Kids Non-Profit won its second Grommet Games Medal in three years. Sibulele Ntosho, who joined The Surfer Kids in early 2018 and was selected to represent Eden Surf Riders in the under 8 division, qualified for the closely contested under 8 final and surfed his way into third place, earning valuable points for his team and winning a bronze medal.     Sinesipho Ngungu received his official Surf Instructor’s Qualification in June 2019 after attending a Surfing South Africa Surf Instructor’s Course at the end of 2017 and finalizing the necessary supplementary qualifications in early 2018.     The Surfer Kids employed a new Surf Coach earlier this year. Sinesipho Ngungu started working for The Surfer Kids in July 2017. Sinesihpo is himself from the township where we recruit our kids. He is qualified for the job by virtue of the fact that he's a qualified lifeguard, having worked several seasons as a lifeguard at De Bakke Beach in Mossel Bay.     Marchall, who is now 19 years old first joined The Surfer Kids NON-Profit's Core Surf Program when he was 12 years old and was part of the group that we took surfing for the first time on November 20 2010. He surfed with the program on a regular basis for 6 years and he's walked a very long road with us, overcoming many challenges along the way.     Marchall Nortje (18) lives in Friemersheim outside Mossel Bay, and after qualifying for the 2016 South African Longboard Surfing Champs, Nashua George sponsored him with his own Longboard to compete with.
